Tiger Lily Seed

The spectacular bright-orange flowers with deep red or purple spots make Tiger Lily a wildflower lover's delight. Tiger Lilies generally grow between 30 and 130cm tall, preferring full sun to light shade and moist conditions. In the wild, Tiger Lilies bloom, between June and August, depending on elevation and location. When eaten, Tiger Lily bulbs have a peppery or bitter taste. Aboriginal people steamed, boiled or more commonly, dried the bulbs for use as a peppery, flavoured condiment.
